ONLINE EVENT RECOMMENDED BY THE OFFICE FOR PROMOTING CHRISTIAN UNITY AND RELIGIOUS RELATIONS WITH JUDAISM

Dr. Stefanie B. Siegmund of the Jewish Theological Seminary will explore the evolution of the Ketubbah as a legal marriage contract and what can we learn about Jewish social customs and economic relations by tracing its history. Participants will discover issues related to spousal life in the Jewish medieval culture. It will also be an opportunity to learn about the emergence of the colourful decorative schemes of Ketubbot and encounter motifs and symbols used in different regions around the world. Join to understand the significance of married life as a scared institution in Judaism.
